Tim Holtz May Tag

Tim Holtz May Tag

This is the card I made for the Tim Holtz May Tag.

I used an old pattern that I stamped to make the background as he showed us on his Blog.

The flowers were pre-made white, I sprayed them with ink then dipped them in UTEE.
Thank you for stopping by to take a look.

Copper Flower Cricut Box

I would like to share with you an altered art box that I made using an empty Cricut Cartridge Box (the old style).  The box is covered with an old book page, inked with Stormy Sky distress ink, and the edges were painted with gray acrylic paint. The flowers are cut from copper sheets using the Tim Holtz Tattered flower die, then heated with a torch to change the color. The flourish is also cut using a Tim Holtz Die, sprayed with black ink and then misted with copper Perfect Pearl. Thank you for looking and have a great day!

Steampunk Box

Today I would like to share with you a Steampunk Card Box that I made. First of all I would to say this was one of my favorite projects to make. I plan on using this box to organize and file my finished cards.

The Box came from Michael's and my husband was kind enough to cut the "lip" off for me. The box was painted with Gesso to cover up the original pattern. The top of the box is painted aluminum foil using a technique used by CapricornArtist73, you can watch his video on youtube if you are interested in learning the tecnique. I painted the whole box with acrylic paints- black, Venetion Gold, and Mint Green using a patina method. I then had lots of fun covering it with many little treasures, Tim Holtz Ideaology line, cuckoo clock parts, watch parts and Dusty Attic Chipboard.

Thank you so much for stopping by to take a look at my craft,  I hope you enjoyed it.

Copper Flower Cork Board

Today I am sharing a Cork Board I made for my Mother-in-Law as a Mother's Day gift. I started out with a 12 by 12 wood frame that I distressed, the cork was pre-cut to the 12 by 12 and fit right in.

The copper flowers are made using copper sheeting cut out with Tim Holtz Tattered floral die and then heated to give them the aged color, the twigs are copper wire that I shaped after it was softened with a torch.

The Butterflies are also Tim Holtz, the butterfly Movers and Shapers die. They were also heat treated, but more lightly to give them the rainbow effect you see.

The Push Pin flowers are just that- small thumb tacks through the center of the flower and glued in place.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed my creation.

Tim Holtz Inspired assemblage

Today I would like to share with you this assemblage inspired by TimHoltz. I am dedicating this piece to this great county we live in, and to my husband who has proudly served it for the last 17 years.

The Box was painted in gray and then distressed, the inside is covered with Tim Holtz tissue paper.
The Star is papier mache that is covered with foil tape, then faux stitched up the center with craft wire. I also used craft wire to make the barbed wire (with the help of my son).

I cut grooves in the top of the box so the gears would stand up, to hold them in place I used E-1000 glue.
The dog tag was found on Etsy and stamped with Archival ink.
The wheels are the new pulleys from Tim Holtz Ideology line, and the type charms have U S A on them.

Thank you so much for stopping to take a look.
